Many natural remedies offer effective sleep aids. Ginger and Turmeric are from the same family (Zingiberaceae) and work harmoniously together to form a great sleep agent. Ginger is anti-viral and has antibiotic agents and both ginger and Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties. Ginger has been used to treat digestive disorders, nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and morning sickness. Turmeric has been used to treat jaundice, hepatitis, digestive disorders, and inflammatory conditions.
Mix ginger and turmeric with honey and lemon, this combination makes a tea that can be used as an effective sleep remedy. Ginger and Turmeric can be found in the produce section of many grocery stores. Directions: Clean the ginger and turmeric, cut into small stripes and put in boil water, boil for 10 minutes, let cool, strain the tea into a jar, add honey and lemon. Optional, milk may be added instead of lemon, if desired, plant-based of course. Drink before bedtime and drift into a relaxed, soothing, calming slumber.
